School Stuff: C is the Letter of the week

C week was actually like a month ago.  I haven't been doing as much school stuff lately and probably won't get back into the swing of things until after our Disney trip.  I can't wait for Disney!  We are leaving a week after Thanksgiving and will be gone for two weeks.  I am nowhere near ready!  Maybe I will bring some school stuff for the kids to do in the car since we are driving.....

We used this worksheet to practice writing the letter C:

I forgot to take worksheet pics!  Opps!
For more details on what I did for these worksheets, check out this post here

Snacks that start with C
  -Mon - Cheese Stix
  -Tues - Cucumbers
-Wed - Bugs on a log (Celery with peanut butter and raisins)
  -Thur - Cantaloupe
  -Fri - Cookies

Books we read that focus on the letter C:
  -Cassie's C Book by J. L. Mazzeo
  -It's C! by Oona Gaarder-Juntti

Other Alphabet books we read:
-The Sleepy Little Alphabet by Judy Sierra
  -ABC T-Rex by Bernard Most

Season/holiday that starts with C that we learned about: Columbus Day
-Read Follow the Dream:  the Story of Christopher Columbus by Peter Sis
  -Craft: Construction Paper boats

One of our projects was to look in a magazine and find pictures of things that started with C.  I then had her cut them out and glue them on a piece of paper.  Here is our C magazine project:

Cones, Crunch Bar, Cherries, Car, Count, Camera

We also created some colored bubble art but that didn't go very well.  The colors did not show up as dark as I thought they would and Alyssa ended up with a mouthful of paint and soap.  Let's just say that that project did NOT go as planned.

We also decided to make cookies, since that was one of the snacks.  Here is a picture of Alyssa helping with the cookies:

Hope you enjoyed our C week!
