On Thursday, Dec. 1st, at around 6 pm, we hit the road. Our first leg of the trip was approx. 12 hours and was to visit our friends Heather and Erik in Alabama. The plan was to drive completely through the night since this leg of the trip was so long. We were able to drive most of the night except for an hour and a half to take a quick snooze. Unfortunately, the kids did not sleep most of the time like planned. They really only got a few hours of sleep which made them super crabby. Once in Alabama, we spent days 1-2 of our trip basically resting and catching up with Heather, Erik and their son Braden, 1.

Day 4 was spent at Hollywood Studios and Epcot. We spent the morning and part of the afternoon at Hollywood Studios, then took the kids back to the condo for a nap. We had dinner in the condo then were at Epcot from 6 pm until it closed.

Hollywood Studios is known for their shows. They had two outstanding shows that my kids just loved. The first one that we went to was Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The show is about 20 minutes long and basically highlights the most popular scenes from the Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. Not only is there action on the stage, but a little bit of water sprayed at us in certain parts and they had a cool effect from above that makes you feel like you are under the sea! Malachi was a little scared during the "battle" scene between Ursula and Erik. It gets kind of loud during this scene and water is lightly spraying and dripping all over. Alyssa loved the show so much that she wanted to see it again.

The second show we went to was Beauty and the Beast. This show was about 30 minutes. Even though it was a bit long, the kids were very good and sat and watched the entire time. This show also highlighted the most popular scenes from the movie and was pretty much a musical.
One of the other things that my kids really enjoyed at Hollywood Studios was the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" playground. Alyssa kept asking to come back to the play area almost every day we were at Disney.
