Adventures at Domino's Petting Farm

A week ago, the babies and I met up with my sis-in-law Kelly in Ann Arbor.  One of my to-do's on our summer bucket list was to go to Domino's Petting Farm and we all decided that that would be a fun thing to do.  I had heard it was a good petting farm and that it was great for young children.  You can find more information about the farm and it's history here.  The kids really seemed to enjoy the farm and seeing all the animals.  Domino's is a not-for-profit (which I didn't know), so they run basically off donations and the admission fees.  The actual property is very large.  About half of it is office buildings and scattered around the office buildings are big, open pens with different animals, mainly sheep, cows and goats.  So as we are driving down the long road to get to the farm, we saw a few different kinds of animals and the kids made sure to point them out.  It was kind of neat so see animals scattered in a fenced in pasture next to a huge parking lot or office building.

Sprinklers and outdoor fun on a hot day

Playing in the sprinklers was on our bucket list of things that we wanted to do this summer.  It was so hot outside yesterday so I thought we would try it out to cool off a little.  Neither of the kids were super thrilled about the sprinkler, so I am sure that we will be going to the water fountains more often then playing in the sprinkler.  I gave them ring pops to eat after playing in the sprinkler and Malachi got it all over.  Here are some pictures from our time outside:

Summer Bucket list

So this summer I decided to put together a bucket list for the kids with different activities that we want to do.  Every year I have one but it's usually pretty limited.  The past three summers my kids were pretty young and we didn't venture out very much.  This year both of them are old enough and they enjoy doing similar things.  This is the list that I came up with (these activities are geared towards a 3 year old and a 1 and a half year old):

Picnic in the Park
Visit a local water park
Participate in the library summer reading program
Camp out in the backyard
Go to a 4th of July parade
4th of July fireworks
Domino's Petting farm in AA
Zoo
Local Farmers market
Finger painting
Make banana splits
Make ice cream sundaes
Play in the sprinkler
Paint with water colors
Make doughnuts
Armada fair
Visit a nursing home
Blow bubbles
Stargaze at Meme and Papa's
Roast marshmallows
See an outdoor movie
AA Children's Museum
See a "cheap" movie with Alyssa
Metro Beach
Make a red, white and blue dessert
Make smores
Outdoor bowling
Ride bikes to get ice cream
Troy Museum and Historical Village
Sterling Heights Nature Center
IKEA
Great Lakes Crossing
Bunert One Room School house
Fountains at Warren City Square

I will be crossing out as we do things on the list and posting about it.  What's on your bucket list for the summer??

P.S.  Maybe I should make a bucket list of crafts I want to make because there are like a billion I want to try!
