Garage sale and thrift store finds Post #2

So here is the rest of my haul from another day of thrift store shopping last week. 

Two of the Salvation Armys that are close by my house carry an awesome selection of kids books.  And for 5 for $1, can't beat the price. 



I pretty much picked up an entire collection of Magic Tree house books in one trip.



I remember reading Arch books as a child and remember liking them.  I want to start a collection for my own children.

There are about 20 or so of these books in the entire series and I would like to collect all of them.  I think I am off to a good start. 

These are a few American girl books that I found.  I actually haven't found too many American Girl Books.  I used to love American girls, they were my favorite.  I remember getting the catalog in the mail and picking out all the things that I wanted.  Unfortunately, I never actually got anything, but a girl can wish, right?? I would love to start a collection for my daughter so she can read them when she gets a little older.   It's funny that I found these two because Addy was just coming out when I was getting too old for the series and Josefina was not around at all.

I actually hate Barney but I guess they do well on Ebay.  I will let my kids watch them each through once (to make sure they work) and then they will be sold. 

Wow!  I found a lot of stuff.  Excited to start my Ebay adventures!

thrifted camping chair for the kiddos!

Sometime last winter, I went to a church rummage sale that was down the street from my house.  I usually don't find a lot at rummage sales but I really wanted to get out of the house and I love looking.  It must be the thrill of the hunt or something.  I was almost at the end of the sale and about to leave when I saw some little school chairs they had by the wall.  I made a bee line for the chairs but decided I didn't want them.  I don't just buy things because they are a good deal.  I buy them because we can or might be able to use them.  I am a bad thrifter like that and have kicked myself more than once for choosing not to buy something, only to need it months later and have to buy it new.  Next to the little chairs was a tall dark blue canvas bag with a $2 sticker on it.  I thought it might be one of those foldable camping chairs, so I pulled it out to check out the condition.  I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be this:

It was a camping chair alright, except there were two little toddler ones together.  Perfect for Malachi and Alyssa, and in great condition (they do need a good scrubbing though!).  And for $2, what a deal!  One of the guys working the sale said he had no idea what it was.  I am thinking he didn't take it out to check.  We are going camping next week with my brother and sis-in-law and will definitely be taking this with us!

Pigtails!

I know pigtails are boring but I think they are cute so I decided to throw them in my 10 for 10.

Yesterday, I wanted to try to hit up some garage sales but it was pouring for most of the morning.  So the kids and I hit up some thrift stores instead.  One of the stores was having a 1/2 off clothing sale and I was able to get a few shirts for myself and some cute dresses for my daughter.  (I will blog about those in a later post!)  We also found this toy:

It is an educational clock that is suppose to teach the kids how to tell time.  The kids can move the hands around and it will tell them the time or it can quiz them to see if they can move the hands in the correct position for a certain time.  I thought it was a fun toy.  My kids love it, even though it is a little old for them right now.  I think this was $2 well spent!
